This Skilling Queenslanders for Work project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government.
 In this Traineeship program, Reclink Australia partners with Ballistics Training Solutions  RTO: 41097 to help you simultaneously study and gain real work experience in Conservation and ecosystem management. This program is centred around giving disadvantaged job seekers a chance to gain an accredited qualification with invaluable work experience skills, broadening long-term employment prospects for participants. 

 There are strict criteria that you must meet to be able to enter into this funded program. 
Min. 15 years old and no longer enrolled at school
Australian/NZ citizen, QLD resident (or on a pathway to permanent residency)
Job seekers ineligible for Govt. services such as Job Active OR who have accessed services for 6 months and remain unemployed or under-employed
Not participated in a previous SQW program
Ability to work outdoors and get to/from work
Mon-Fri is essential for early start times

Priority Groups
· Women returning to the workforce
· People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
· Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
· Mature aged job seekers aged 45 years and over
· Young people (15 -24 years)
· Job seekers facing barriers to work
​​​​​​​Participating in local ecosystem restoration projects helps you to contribute towards improving and protecting the environment in your community while you learn more about the natural world around you

Information you learn about include:
Basic SEQLD native flora and fauna, common vegetation types, and biomes. How to Identify flora and fauna
Ecological relationships, Fauna habitat, the importance of Plants to the environment and in ecosystems
Weed ID and weed control, Integrated pest management
Native seed collection, native plant propagation, Plant care,  Plant species culture, General nursery operations
Natural area restoration, tree planting 
Some plant and animal evolution and adaptation.
Environmental sustainability practices
Fauna spotter training, Nest box monitoring, Fauna surveying.
   Industry-standard OHS, industry tools and equipment use
